Mr. Van Riessen serves as Geotechnical Services Manager
for Kruger Technologies, Inc. His responsibilities include quality
assurance of technical reports, providing technical expertise, directing
management and design for a variety of geotechnical
and environmental projects. Specific areas of expertise include
technical evaluation and design of deep and shallow foundation systems,
earth retaining structures, embankments and dams.
Mr. Van Riessen has recently served as Vice President
and engineering technical director for Geotechnical Services, Inc.
He prepared foundation system analyses, project design manuals,
geotechnical investigations and reports, and technical specifications
for construction contracts. Prior to joining GSI, Mr. Van Riessen
was associated with two regional geotechnical firms, where he functioned
within the roles of office manager and senior engineer. From 1979
to 1994, Mr. Van Riessen was employed by Black & Veatch, a large
national consulting engineering firm, as the geotechnical engineering
supervisor for the Power Division’s Structural Engineering Department.
Prior to his engagement with Black & Veatch, Mr. Van Riessen served
as a staff geotechnical /civil engineer with Burns and McDonnell
Engineers-Architects from 1975-1979. He has co-authored technical
paper on the evaluation of large-scale footing load tests on structural
fill and the performance of power station foundations founded on
a structural fill in Utah.
He also served on the Geotechnical Activities Committee
of the Kansas City Section of ASCE. His thesis addressed the evaluation
of the elastic modulus of soils by means of field and laboratory
tests.

| Mr. Bettinger has 14 years of experience and currently serves
as environmental services manager for KTI. His duties include marketing
of environmental services, proposal submittal and report preparation.
Mr. Bettinger has
performed
more than 700 Phase I environmental assessments on sites ranging
from undeveloped, agricultural/pastureland to manufacturing and
industrial facilities.
Mr. Bettinger has completed a number of underground storage tank
closures in Missouri and Kansas. Phase II investigations have included
hydrocarbon plume delineation, monitoring well installation, groundwater
sampling, and asbestos surveys and sampling. He served as project
manager for a multi-year, hazardous waste investigation and remediation
project at the United States Federal Penitentiary in Leavenworth,
Kansas. Other projects include Land of Oz Development (preliminaries),
WaterTower 2000 for the City of Manhattan, Kansas; Performing Arts
Center, Kauffman family Preliminaries, Kansas City, Missouri; as
well as numerous plants, office buildings and industrial parks.
